Palo Verde Child and Family Services, Inc. provides the mandated Family Court "Cope" classes, formerly known as "Helping Children Cope With Divorce". This educational program focuses on the needs of children during times of stress. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 1. How do I register for this seminar? 2. What do I need to do to take this seminar? 3. Does my soon to be "ex" and I have to take this seminar together? A. You may do so if you choose. 4. Does my soon to be "ex" need to take this seminar, too? Yes. You both have to take it unless the judge has waived the class because your ex resides in another state or is out of the country. 5. What happens if one of the parties will not attend? The court can hold them in contempt of court and even withhold visitation until the class is completed. This seminar is not a counseling session to discuss individual issues, but is an opportunity for divorcing parents to receive valuable information to help and guide them in a positive direction.
